The Good Samaritan Hospital Stroke Center delivers rapid identification and treatment for patients with the initial signs of stroke. During the first three hours, intervention is crucial in order to restore circulation to the brain and prevent further damage.
Good Samaritan uses a multidisciplinary, team approach that focuses on achieving the highest quality of care to reduce patient complications and costs. A dedicated stroke team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This team includes a medical director and two stroke nurse coordinators, along with neuroradiologists and specially trained stroke nurses. These specialists oversee the stroke patients care from entry into the emergency department through discharge.
